Craig is a Certified Financial Planner, a Chartered Wealth Manager and the Managing Partner of Penguin.

On a personal note, Craig has always lived in Cardiff and considers himself lucky to be blessed with 2 children, 3 step children and 4 grandchildren.

Craig believes in the One Life, Live it Well philosophy of Penguin and that is why he shares as much time as he can with his family, and takes 8-12 weeks holiday a year whilst managing the Penguin Businesses.

Craig started in Financial Services in 2000 and considers himself extremely fortunate that he’s found his vocation. Hard work and constant study has resulted in Craig reaching Certified Financial Planner Status, a level of qualification that only 1% of the world’s Financial Services Community reach. Craig was recently voted as the top Financial Planner in Cardiff by – an independent website where clients can review their Financial Planner.  Craig is also a member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Membership is recognised internationally as the standard of excellence in the Life Insurance and Financial Services business.

Craig is an international speaker after taking the stage at the 2015 & 2017 Million Dollar Round Table conference in New Orleans. Craig really enjoys presenting at seminars as he is passionate about sharing the benefits of good Financial Planning. This is evidenced further by Craig authoring a book featured on Amazon – ‘The Wealth Secret: Create, Build and Protect your future the Penguin way.

Viv’s many years of experience as a Managing Director of two floated plc companies adds a new dimension to law firms. He has the experience necessary to provide an invaluable practical management insights for all professional firms.

Viv is involved with several businesses serving the legal profession as Chairman of Ochresoft Technologies providing specialist solutions for conveyancing and private client; Legal Services Director of SIFA 360, providing a specialist financials services solution; Director of Ampersand which provides merger and acquisition solutions for the legal profession.

Viv has written two books on law firm management and is regularly interviewed by the Law Society Gazette on a host of topics; he has a monthly column in the Solicitors Journal.

Viv is an accomplished public speaker and has presented numerous seminars and conferences and is a key note speaker at LegalEx.”

Head Of Legal

Alexis is a Chartered Legal Executive and the Branch Chair of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives for Cardiff and South East Wales.

Alexis is the Head of Legal at Penguin Legal Services Ltd and specialises in advising clients on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Estate Administration and Probate.

Alexis acts on behalf of clients and likes helping them understand their options whilst providing practical advice. Throughout her career Alexis has also worked with a number of charities offering support and legal advice and has become a “Dementia Friend” (an initiative through the Alzheimer’s Society Charity to support and help those with dementia)

Outside of Penguin Legal, Alexis loves to spend time all of her spare time with her husband Christopher and son Griffydd. She also enjoys music, reading and crafts and is Chairperson of Griffydd’s local Football Club.

Olly grew up with a passion for golf and played for Wales and Great Britain at both boy and youth level.  He ‘fell into’ financial planning at the tender age of 22 with his first job located in London.  In 2009, after the birth of his daughter Isabella, he and his wife Nia moved back to South Wales.  He joined Penguin as a partner on September 8th, 2011 on the same day his son James was born and is proud to be a part of Penguin.

Olly considers working as a Financial Planner a privilege.  He particularly enjoys working with business owners helping them identify their personal ‘Number’ and taking them on their financial journey to their Financial Freedom date and beyond. This is evidenced by Olly co-authoring a book featured on Amazon – ‘The Wealth Secret: Create, Build and Protect your future the Penguin way’.

In his spare time, Olly can occasionally be found at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club trying but failing to relive his former golfing prowess.

Gavin was born and bred in Cardiff and has been part of the Penguin Team since Jan 2012, and a Partner since 2015.

Family is a major part of his life. He is married to Stacey (the Original Gavin and Stacey) and they are blessed with their Son – Morgan.

Gavin lives our belief of ‘One Life, Live it Well’ by spending as much time as possible not just with his immediate family, but also with his friends. He is always planning trips away with his family well in advance in order to strike the right balance for his lifestyle.

As well as his Family and Penguin, Gavin has a love of rugby and playing golf (badly).

Gavin started his career in financial services as a Financial Adviser within the Co-operative Group.  Prior to this, he worked within the corporate world of BT within the operations and financial sector.

Gavin states that ‘adding value’ to his clients stems from building and maintaining client relationships.  He particularly enjoys supporting business clients through their personal and business journeys from the initial stages right through to the exit.

He is a firm believer that good Financial Planning will help to enhance a client’s life.

Mike joined the team in January 2013, having been involved in Financial Services for over 30 years.

Mike specialises in the Group Employee Benefits market, providing advice and information and implementing Group Personal Pension Schemes, Group Life Benefits, Group Private Medical Insurance and Group Income Replacement Plans.  In 2015, he was awarded the Winner of Financial Adviser (subsidiary of The Financial Times) – Group Life and Pensions Award UK.

Mike prides himself on the face to face approach which is not always available in Financial Services.

Business Manager

Liza is our Business Manager. She ensures the business runs smoothly on a daily basis and her role includes a range of responsibilities – from managing the finances and accounts to making sure the cupboards are stocked with nice coffee and treats for our clients.

Liza is actively involved throughout the business and is always on hand to offer support both to our clients and the rest of the Penguin Team. Indeed, she is the ‘go to’ person for our Team.

Liza is friendly, caring and confident and has over 10 years’ experience in the industry.

When Liza isn’t busy juggling the many tasks that keep the business running effectively and efficiently, she enjoys her time away from the office travelling with her husband whenever possible. She also has a passion for cooking and loves to sample new recipes and cuisines

Technical Manager

Lisa has worked in financial services for over 15 years and started working as a Paraplanner in 2004.

Her role as Technical Manager here at Penguin involves completing a lot of behind the scenes tasks that make the business tick. She is responsible for much of the set up and design work for client Wealth Management Plans and client reports, analysing and assembling these to a personalised high standard for our clients.

Lisa is extremely focused, driven and meticulous to a high standard; you can always rely on her to get the job done and get it done right.

She also works to ensure our portfolios are invested correctly and she helps deal with any queries and questions our clients may have, whilst always supporting the advisers and ensuring recommendations given to our clients are correctly carried out.

On a personal note, Lisa always strives to achieve a work life balance. She is married with three young sons and loves spending her time away from the office enjoying quality family time with them.

Client Relationship Manager

Rhianydd is a caring and approachable ‘people person’ who spends her days putting our Clients’ needs first. She is friendly but professional and makes Clients feel welcome, valued, understood and is their first point of contact at Penguin.

Her achievements to date include a 2.1 BA Hons degree, Grade 8 in Musical Theatre and Grade 5 in Piano. These experiences have helped to develop Rhianydd into a confident and bubbly person. These attributes make her shine in her Role as Penguins Client Relationship Manager.

Rhianydd embraces the ‘One Life – Live It Well’ motto. In her free time, she enjoys going to the Theatre, Singing, is a member of City Voices Choir, playing Netball, watching Rugby and is a season ticket holder for the Ospreys, and travels when she gets the chance.

Technical Assistant

Matthew has over 10 years’ experience working within the financial industry. After two years working for a FTSE-100 company, he is excited to be back working within an industry he is passionate about.

His role here at Penguin is to support the advisers by undertaking research to identify suitable solutions to meet our client’s individual needs, as well as dealing with the implementation of any recommendations.

In his free time, he likes spending time with his family – going on long walks and camping trips. He’s never more at home than in front of a barbeque (weather permitting*). When he gets a chance to relax, he likes watching films and meeting with friends.

Matthew is a keen supporter of raising awareness for Autism, as this is something very close to his heart.

Trainee Financial Adviser

After achieving a BSc in Finance and investment Tom Joined the Penguin Team in April 2016 he is now studying towards his Diploma in Investment Advice with the goal of becoming a Chartered Financial Adviser.

As part of the Penguin team Tom helps support the advisers with report writing, research and other areas of financial analysis necessary to ensure our clients receive the best advice possible.

Outside of the office Tom is a keen football fan, is a life-long Chelsea supporter and also enjoys keeping fit and travelling the world whenever he gets the chance.

Technical Assistant

David works part-time within the Technical Team and is also currently studying BSc Finance & Investment at the University of South Wales.

His role here at Penguin is to support the advisers by undertaking research to identify suitable solutions to meet our client’s individual needs, as well as dealing with the implementation of any recommendations.

He has just finished second year at university, winning an award for being the top performing student on his ‘Pensions & Retirement Planning’ module.

In his spare time, David enjoys travelling with his girlfriend and recently spent 3 weeks ‘inter-railing’ across 9 countries around Europe- his favourite destination being Lake Bled, Slovenia.

David is also a huge Newcastle United fan- howay the lads!

Client Relationship Assistant

Since graduating with a 2.1 BSc in Psychology and a PGCE, Kate has decided to make a change in her career path and has joined Penguin as our Client Relationship Assistant.  Her friendly and approachable personality comes from her background of being a former teacher, which is a valued skill in her new role.

Kate supports the Client Relationship Manager, liaising with clients on a day to day basis and focusing on putting their needs first.

Kate is a dedicated and motivated individual, who has a passion to travel, along with hobbies that include netball, cycling, swimming, and dog walking.

Marketing Assistant

After achieving high grading A levels in Media Studies, English Literature and Language, Ashley went on to work in the hospitality industry. During this time he gained a vast knowledge of customers and their wants and needs, and completed his Customer Services Level 1 Apprenticeship.

Ashley tried his hand in a variety of different roles but decided that Marketing was his passion.

As our Marketing Assistant here at Penguin, Ashley helps to put us in front of the world giving people the opportunity to find out about all the good work that Penguin does. He assists in developing and implementing effective long-term marketing plans and goals, whilst producing engaging content across all Social Media platforms, and creating essential work for distribution across the company websites.

Outside of the office, Ashley is a keen and enthusiastic drummer. Having played since the age of 11, Ashley enjoys playing gigs with his band. He also takes an interest in cooking new and exciting dishes and travelling as much as possible.
